ABOUT ME
Clinical, creative planning with sense of adventure of how things may pan out, a forward thinker with attention to detail that is Marie Vogts.
From 2012-2017, Marie Vogts was the Managing Director of Youngblood Arts & Culture Development, a NGO working in the arts industry, based in Cape Town, South Africa.
After her studies, she started working in the cultural programme department of the Goethe Institute and experienced the diverse art scene of Johannesburg. Whilst working for the latter institution, she completed her postgraduate diploma in Arts, Culture & Heritage Management at WITS University. It was then that she realised a need and passion for bringing business and arts together. It is her strong belief that organizations should collaborate and stand together in order to become stronger entities - thereby emphasizing a stronger identity within diversity.
In 2015 she was chosen as one of the South African delegates to attend the Edinburgh Festival Creative Week Exchange in collaboration with Cape Town Partnership. The aim of this exchange programme was to learn from their festival business models and see whether Cape Town can function as a festival city.
Marie has a big heart for people and for driving positive change in local communities. Her collaborative personality has led her to co-developing a local project with Dreamer Education. This project brings education – specifically mathematics - and art together.
For the last two years her focus has been on the producing and production management especially within the theatre industry. She also functions as manager for Robyn Pretorius Art and Figure of 8 Dance Collective.
